Jane Tate Curtis

May 17, 1923 — December 21, 2003

Mrs. Jane Kathryn Tate Curtis, age 80 of Lewisburg, died Sunday in St. Thomas Hospital.

A native of the Delina Community, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Florence Pierce Armstrong, a homemaker and former employee with Faber-Castell, and a member of the Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Spring Place Community. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Morgan Tate and Hubert Curtis.

Mrs. Curtis is survived by her son: Jerry Tate of Lewisburg; 2 sisters: Earline Clark of Lewisburg and Frances Coker of Columbia, SC; a step-daughter: Mary Sue Hobby of Lewisburg; step-son: Knox Curtis of Franklin; 3 grandchildren, 8 step-granchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with burial in Short Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hubreen Looney, Doug Looney, Charlie Allen, Randal Cavnar, Ray Cox, David Perryman, and Bobby Tallman.

The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home after 4:00 PM Monday and on Tuesday until the funeral hour for visitation.

Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mrs. Curtis.
