Herschel Hobbs

Mr. Herschel R. Hobbs, age 70, of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at his residence.
A native of Bedford County, he was the son of the late Annie Riddle Hobbs and Oscar Hobbs. He enjoyed boating and was retired from Trott Group Trucking as a truck driver and was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church of Lewisburg.
Mr. Hobbs is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Kenneth Hobbs and a nephew Scott Hobbs.
Survivors include his loving wife of twenty six years, Mrs. Sadie Elizabeth Blackwell Hobbs, of Lewisburg, three sons Marcus Shane Hobbs of Murfreesboro, Thomas Hobbs of Texas, and Toby Hobbs of the Wheel Community, one daughter Terri Hobbs of Tampa Bay, Florida and one step daughter Lois Mai Vaughn of Summerville, South Carolina. Several grandchildren, neices and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Hobbs will be conducted on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with Brother James Hickey officiating, burial will follow in Sunset Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
