Biography
Mrs. Helen Rachel Williams Bowden, age 93 of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at NHC- Oakwood.
A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Clemmie Whitesell Williams and Ernest Thompson Williams. She was the owner of Two Sisters Dress Shop and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg.
In addition to her parents, her husband, William Bill Bowden, a daughter, Billie Marie Bowden Carroll and 4 grand children precede her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Don Bowden of Lewisburg, Mack (Norma) Bowden of Lewisburg, daughter, Patsy Bowden (Harold) Daughrity of Chapel Hill, Granddaughters, Rhonda Carroll Cross of Smyrna, Donnette Bowden Giles of Lewisburg, Debbie Ramsey of Knoxville., Kimberly Corder of Russellville KY, and Christi Farlow of Chapel Hill. Grandsons, Greg Bowden of Memphis, Christopher Bowden of Murfreesboro, and Kenneth Daughrity of Chapel Hill. 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Bowden will be conducted on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Bowden Cemetery with Jeff Eason and Claude McMillion officiating.
Visitation with the family will begin on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude's Place. Memphis, TN 38105.
