George Swesey, Jr

Mr. Swesey died Wednesday at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro.
He was a retired Teledyne employee, and member of the First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg. Active in the community, he was a 50 year member of the Dillahunty Lodge #112 Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies. He was also a member of the Lewisburg Order of the Eastern Star #318, American Legion Post 39, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. A First Lieutenant in WWII, he served in the Army Signal Corps and was stationed in Japan.
Mr. Swesey the son of the late George and Nellie Meyer Swesey.
He is survived by his wife: Jane G. Swesey of Lewisburg; sister: Kathryn Dodrill of Huntington, WV; son: Dean Swesey of Belle Mina, AL; and daughter: Kathy Dyer of Arvada, CO; three grandchildren: David Swesey, Rebecca Dyer, adn Shannon Dyer; and one great-grandchild: Christian Swesey.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
