Ernest Slagle

Mr. Ernest Connie Slagle, age 79, of Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Mr. Slagle was the son of Talmadge Slagle and Blanche Hayworth Slagle. A native of New Market, TN, He was a veteran in the United States Air Force serving during the Panama Canal Zone, retired from the East Tennessee Natural Gas Department as a supervisor after 40 years of service. And was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents.Three brothers Herman Slagle, Gordon Slagle, Wayne Slagle and a sister Alma Whitehead.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years Mrs. Betty Slagle of Lewisburg, two daughters; Brenda Gary Steward of Bethpage, TN and Connie Bill McLain of Columbia, TN, one son; Gary Slagle of Columbia, TN one brother, Dillion Slagle of Knoxville, TN and two sisters; Kathleen Reed of Strawberry Plaines, TN and Elizabeth Ellis of Knoxville, TN. Six grandsons ; Jeff McLain , Richie Slagle, Alex Slagle, Adam Fowler, Brett Fowler, Jonathan Fowler. One Grand daughter; Jennifer Payton Also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Slagle will be conducted on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, in Lewisburg, Tn with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with Reverend Paul Woodford officiating. Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, December 19, 2008 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also on Saturday, December 20, 2008 one hour before the funeral service.
