Darwin Winsett

Darwin Winsett, age 84 of Shelbyville passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, at his residence. A native of Lincoln County, Tennessee, Mr. Winsett was the son of the late Thomas Winsett and Leona Land Winsett. He retired from Ford Motor Company with 35 years of service and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruby and Linda Winsett, and three brothers, Arnold, Ray, and Buford Winsett.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Ping Winsett of Shelbyville, one son, Larry Winsett of Lewisburg, three daughters, Patsy Polselli of Bradenton, Florida, Wanda Klindt of Enterprise, Alabama, and Mary Jane Nieberg of Port Charlotte, Florida, two sisters, Ruth Hastings of Petersburg and Lynn Wiser of Fayetteville, and one brother, Wayne Winsett of Petersburg. Ten grandchildren, Jim, Alissa, Danielle, Sean, Megan, Joshua, Jacob, Matthew, Mark, and Ben and 19 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Winsett will be Sunday, May 19, 2013, at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh with Doug Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Athens Alabama. Visitation with family will be Sunday before the service from 2 PM to 4 PM.
