Biography
Betty Jean Dean, age 71 of Lewisburg, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.

A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Verna Pearl Milton Polly and Cheatham Polly, She was retired from Sanford Corporation as a machine operator and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son Mickey Dean and a brother, Leslie Herman Polly.

Survivors include three daughters Virginia (Jerry) Gowen of Belfast, Debbie (Paul) Darnell of Cornersville, Penny Martin of Lewisburg, two sons Sammy Lee (Alice) Dean of Belfast and Howie (Pam) Dean of Petersburg, four sisters Georgia Polly of Lewisburg, Rita Taylor of Shelbyville, Linda Faye Childress of Lewisburg, and Shirley (Frank) Corbin of Petersburg. Seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dean will be conducted on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with Jerry Bradford officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery at Tally Station.

Visitation with the family will begin on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
